Accessibility Statement
Gemini Courses recognises the importance of providing a website that is accessible to all our user groups, including those with disabilities.
Accessibility Features
This website incorporates several features designed to improve navigation for screenreader users, keyboard navigation and users of text only browsers including:
- Images and Alt tags
- Resizable Text
- Standards Compliance
- Consistent Navigation
Images and Alt Tags
We have avoided using excessive graphics within the web site where possible to ensure quick download times and access to information which cannot be read when in image format.
Where images have been used we have added 'Alt' tags - text alternatives so that you can still see what the image is meant to convey even if it doesn't load or if you've chosen to browse with the images switched off or you are using something like a screen reader to read the web page rather than view.
Re-sizable Text
We have been careful to make sure that we haven't fixed the size of the textual information on the web site so that visitors who wish to can alter the font size on the screen to make it easier to read. There are a couple of ways to enable this.
- Select one of the larger or smaller 'A's that are found at the top of every page. Doing so will increase your font size accordingly.
- It is also possible to increase the size of the text by holding down the ctrl key on the bottom left hand row of the key board whilst using the scroll wheel on the mouse to increase (or decrease) the size of the text.
Browser Compatibility
This site has been tested with the following browsers for compatibility.
- Mozilla Firefox 2 & 3
- Internet Explorer 6.0 & 7.0
- Safari 3.1.1
- Opera 9.27
Later versions of these browsers should continue to be compatible
Standards Compliance
Although the site doesn’t currently fully comply in all areas, our aspiration is to conform to all of the Guidelines for UK government websites and the Worldwide Web Consortiums (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, Level AAA, and ensure we maintain this standard once it is achieved.
Our website design takes into account users who are visually impaired or have difficulties using a mouse. It is compatible with popular screen reading software and can be navigated using only a keyboard.
We strive to obey the spirit of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) of 1995 with respect to the provision of services online, as required by the Disability Rights Commission (DRC).
Consistent Navigation
Throughout the site we have tried to keep the navigation consistent. The top level of navigation to the main sections, Home, What's On, Tickets and Boking etc. are available at all times via the navigation bar at the top of the page. We have tried to make the navigation as easy as possible.
If you have trouble locating anything on the website, don't forget to try the Site Map or Search facility.
