New York School, Penn Station - General Course

This course teaches General English and uses all four elements of language study: reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as giving you grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary on a daily basis. This course is designed to teach you English for General Purposes and attracts students of all ages and nationalities.

Courses run from Monday to Friday and can be booked from 1 or 2 weeks up to as many weeks as you like.

Your English language level will be tested by the school on your first day (or online in advance) in order to place you in the correct group.

Maximum class size: 25 students

Lesson Length: 60 minutes

Materials included: yes

Schedule: 15 lessons per week

Timetable: 10:00 - 13:00 Monday to Friday

Public holidays:

2010: Jan 18, Feb 15, May 31, Jul 5, Sep 6, Oct 11, Nov 11, 25 & 26.

Where a public holiday falls on a Monday, courses will start on the Tuesday instead.
Lessons missed on public holidays cannot be made up.

Accommodation options and pricing:

Host Family Stay
1. Single Room, Half Board (breakfast & dinner) €250 per week
2. Single Room, Bed & Breakfast €187 per week

Student Residence - Westside Manhattan YMCA
1. Single Room, self catering €280 per week
Please ask for other residence options.

Please note: Accommodation arrival day is Sunday and departure day is Saturday. Please contact us if you need to book extra nights.
