Manchester School - Exam Preparation - IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the exam used to test the English level of international students wishing to gain entry to universities in Britain, Australia or New Zealand. The test measures students’ ability to communicate in all four areas of language study – reading, writing, speaking & listening. The test is graded so students are given a score. Universities require a certain score for entry, which varies depending on the university.
An IELTS exam preparation course is designed to prepare students to take the test and will usually be taken alongside a General English course. It is recommended for intermediate level students and above and would usually be taken for a minimum of 4 weeks, depending on the school you choose to study at. Some schools are IELTS test centres and others will be close to a test centre. The exam fee is not included in the course price and should be paid locally.
