Accommodation: learning Spanish outside the classroom

Shared apartment
Staying in a shared apartment means that you will have your own room (unless you have requested to share a twin room with a friend) and you will share the facilities of the apartment or house. Apartments usually have between 2 and 4 bedrooms, a lounge, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Some may have outside space such as a balcony or patio.

Host family
Staying with a host family is a great way to immerse yourself in Spanish and practise your new language skills as well as experiencing some of the culture and home-life of the people you are staying with. The concept of a “family” is not the same for everyone.

Student ResidenceA student residence will vary depending on the Spanish school you choose to study with. Often, residence accommodation comprises individual or twin rooms that share a kitchen, bathrooms and living area. Similar to a shared apartment but with more rooms and usually designed to cater for university students. Some residences will provide meals, others will work on a self catering basis. |
